Shades for SS13

With the sun streaming in through our window we couldn’t think of a better day for a meeting with our favourite optics expert – Jonathan van Blerk.

Jonathan is responsible for introducing us to Le Specs, the range of sunglasses we are currently stocking online. Seeing as we have completely fallen in love with the range and have already sold out of a few styles, we couldn’t wait to see what he had in store for next season.

Picking our favourite sunglasses from the huge selection was no easy task but it’s one that Fin chose to approach on a very practical level.

Tried and Tested

Stay tuned to see which pairs make the final collection for next season. (We can confirm that it’s not likely to be the white Lady Gaga shades)

Designing Spring/Summer 2013 – The Shep

There’s nothing we love more than a stylish male visitor to our all-girl office and last week’s meeting with Shep didn’t disappoint. Regular readers of the blog might remember Shep as the man who bid for the opportunity to help design a shoe with Fin in aid of the Katie Piper foundation, a cause close to Fin’s heart. If you missed that then catch up with the story so far here.

The first samples of ‘The Shep’ design, along with all of our other fabulous SS13 styles have now arrived from our factory in Portugal and are currently residing at Fin’s HQ.

Seeing the first samples created from our original designs is always exciting and we think Shep was just as thrilled at the prospect.

Shep’s visit marked the second stage in the design process, editing and additions. However, we’re delighted to report that Shep declared his sample was perfect and didn’t require any additions or changes!

Happily, this left us plenty of time to catch up on Shep’s latest gossip and pose for a few pictures.

The next stop for the Shep sample will be the Pitti Uomo trade-show in Florence along with the rest of our Spring Summer 2013 collection. Stay tuned for responses from the buyers at the show!

Behind the Scenes of the SS13 Photo Shoot

With nearly double the amount of styles to shoot than previous seasons, we knew that the SS13 shoot was going to be big. However, it’s safe to say that nobody guessed that the shoot would become a full-blown Fin’s extravaganza complete with hand painted 8ft canvases and 10 different models!

The shoes themselves must remain a closely guarded secret for now, but what we can show you is a few sneak peeks behind the scenes of our biggest and best shoot yet.

These huge canvases were a real team effort! Painted over a two-day period by Team Fin’s, we think the results are pretty fabulous.

Unfortunately we are now faced with the problem of re-homing three 8ft by 5ft painted canvases! Do let us know if you have any suggestions…

We love nothing better than seeing our shoes on the feet of ordinary sensations. So for this shoot, we asked our most handsome friends to come along and have their photo taken for our new look book. Here are a few snaps of our wonderful models.

A big thanks go to our friends over at Hentsch Man who were kind enough to lend us some fabulous clothes to set our shoes off to perfection at the shoot. These Aqua trousers were particularly popular with the boys.
