Today Fin attended the Women of The Year lunch, joining a handpicked selection of women, all of whom have achieved something of significance.

As well as being a great recognition of Fin’s success as a shoe maker and business woman, the lunch also provided an opportunity to meet many inspirational women from all walks of life.

LOVE

The Fin’s AW11 Collection

Although the collection officially launched last week, this week we have been able to see the collection displayed in our showroom in all of its glory. We have grown particularly fond of the Bobby and Cooper. If you would like to book an appointment to come in and view the collection for yourself please do give us a call on 0207 352 0066.

Steve Martin

There has been somewhat of a Steve Martin revival in Fin’s HQ this week. When a divide in the team emerged after a discussion on whether Martin was the ideal man, it seemed like the only sensible thing to do was to order Steve Martin goods from Amazon. Hence a delivery of the Father of the Bride box set and An Object of Beauty (Martin’s novel)

We know what we’ll be doing this weekend!

The Introduction of Insoles

Longstanding Fin’s fans will be pleased to hear that we have begun to sell replacement insoles, suitable for your beloved Georges, Marshalls and Amalfis. Pep your Fin’s up after a long summers wear with a pair of new insoles and give them a new lease of life.

Missing Sally

With Sally away Fin’s has been missing a vital part of the team this week. With nobody to turn to for lunch and dinner suggestions Fin and the team have had to fend for themselves. We will be relieved when Sally returns Monday.

Autumnal TV Disappointment

With both X Factor and our beloved Downton Abbey getting sillier with every passing week, we are starting to consider the possibility of going out on a Saturday night. Although, the X Factor USA is rather gripping…

Fin’s AW11 Collection – Bloggers Pick

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

To help celebrate the launch of the Fin’s AW11 collection we have asked a few of our most trusted bloggers to give us their take on their favourite shoe from the collection. First up is Emily Bihl from Rye & Rivet, a fellow girl in the world of mens style.

Emily Bihl is a writing student and graphic design specialist at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. When not pursuing fiction, she combines her various loves of fashion, design, heritage, and the written word running her blog, Rye & Rivet. Visit it here.
About R&R: Rye & Rivet is a menswear and men’s items blog concerned with history, quality, and the culture of craftsmanship. While it primarily features clothing and small-run artisanal liquors, Rye & Rivet strives to encompass the essence of the discerning man’s lifestyle by supplementing this with unique projects and exclusive interviews.

Emily, What is your favorite shoe from the Fin’s AW11 collection and why?
I love The Jacob Desert Boot. It has a clean, practical silhouette that’s well-suited for wintry weekends, but the unique colorway choices add enough visual interest to make it perfect for dressing up on special occasions as well.

How would you style it?

I’d pair the Jacob boot with a pair of slim-cut raw denim jeans, a natural leather belt, a crisp button-down and an olive corduroy jacket.

Where would you wear it?

The great thing about the Jacob boot is that it can go anywhere– into town for errands, out to dinner with friends, even to a concert. But the color choices feel so perfect for Fall that it’d be a shame not to wear them on a hayride or at a pumpkin patch.

Who do you think the Jacob man is?

Jacob is outdoorsy, but he also knows how to pull a great look together for a night out. He’s low-maintenance but always looks effortlessly sharp. And, of course, he knows quality.

What’s the best thing about Autumn apart from the Fin’s Collection?

The warm, smokey smell of a bonfire in the evening.

Thanks Emily!
