Fin’s ss12 lands at Office Kings Road

Friday, January 27th, 2012

If you happen to be wandering down the Kings Road this weekend we suggest you take a look at the window of Office where our SS12 collection is currently on show. We think the George in Cobalt Blue looks great!

Featuring the Samuel and George suede loafer

After admiring the window display we caught up with the Kings Road menswear manager, Chris Williams who answered a few of our questions.

What do you like most about the Fin’s range?

I love how comfortable your loafers are. The George is a particular favourite of mine. I also think the price point is competitive and gives our customers real value for money. The Fin’s range really raises the standard of our men’s shoes offering in store.

What does the Office customer look for in their shoes?

Our customers look for a good mix of styles when they visit us. The bestselling styles with our customers over the past few seasons have been boat shoes and loafers. The Moccasin and Desert Boot styles have also been very popular over the winter.

What’s your favourite style from the Fin’s SS12 collection?

I’d have to say the George Suede loafer. It’s one of the most comfortable shoes I own! However, the new Samuel loafer is fast becoming a favourite and I’m looking forward to trying it out over the next few months.

What have your customers got to look forward to from Office Kings Road in SS12?

Colour! After a dark and muted winter, everything is lifting for Spring/Summer. I think men are becoming more and more open-minded in their colour choices and our summer offering really reflects this.

Finally, what do you think will be the bestseller from the Fin’s range in your store?

My prediction would be the George Suede Loafer in Zanzibar Grey. It’s a super comfy style and I think this colour will be particularly popular with our customers.

BLOG Suri Cruise Burn Book

As many of you will know by now, Fin’s HQ is OBSESSED with Beyonce. So naturally we were beyond excited to hear that she had (finally!) given birth to a little girl, Blue Ivy, over the weekend. But forget our reactions; click through to read Suri Cruise’s hilarious (fictional) opinions on the newest addition to the celebrity children circuit.

Perfect Friday reading

FIN’SSackville Slipper

Our favourite Fin’s buy this week has got to be the Sackville Slipper. Wearing a pair of these super cosy slips has got to be the best excuse for staying in this Saturday night. And at just £37.50 in the sale, there’s no excuse for shabby slippers this season!

STYLEMr Porter Sale

If you still have a few pennies to spare after making the most of the bargains in our sale, we suggest you head over to Mr Porter and check out the accessories in their sale. There’s nothing like a new accessory to transform a tired outfit and Mr Porter have some great ties and pocket squares on offer. We particularly like this chic cashmere tie from Drakes.

Currently starring in chilling thriller, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Craig is everywhere at the moment. We loved his frank interview with GQ. Daniel, if you’re reading this, we think you would look great in a pair of Jacob Desert Boots.

My Wardrobe SS12 Press Day

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Team Fin’s visited the My Wardrobe Press Day yesterday to take a look at our Fin’s and find out what else My Wardrobe has in store for Spring Summer 2012.

As expected, we found plenty of fabulous menswear for next season, from candy coloured trousers and Hawaiian shirts, to the more practical light knits that we thought would be perfect for a cool Spring day.

We particularly liked this preppy knit from Wolsey 1755.

Of course, the star of the show (in our opinion at least) was the Fin’s collection! My Wardrobe will be stocking the George loafer in classic brights as part of its mens footwear offering next season.

Here’s how it looked on the day.

Sally and Vicky also got a chance to participate in Movember. Hopefully some of our Finsketeer’s will have been able to grow a more impressive moustache this month to help raise awareness of prostate cancer. Let us know!

Sal and Vicky get into the spirit of Movember

Despite the purpose of our visit being to check out Fin’s, we couldn’t resist having a quick look downstairs at all of the gorgeous womens wear! After falling in love with Smythson totes and beautiful dresses we quickly retreated back upstairs to menswear where we came across these great satchels for the men in our lives.

We LOVE!

Thanks to My Wardrobe! We can’t wait to see Fin’s on the site next season.

I Should Coco

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

It’s not every day that a Finsketeer finds herself in the heart of the Square Mile on a Wednesday morning, but at 8 o’clock this morning, with church bells peeling and cloudless skies above, there I was.  And so it was that I stopped into the newest and shiniest of Fleet Street eateries, Coco di Mama.  Newly opened in May this year, Coco di Mama is the first of what I hope will be many tasty doors across our nation’s capital and beyond.

If you’re looking for the most handsome and dashing baristas in town, serving you a genuinely tasty cappuccino and out-of-this-world pain au Valrhona chocolat (beyond, I tell you), then I would urge you to make a diversion to Coco di Mama.

I think the main draw lies in the lunchtime options – totally mouth-watering pots of pasta with all the sauces you would dream of – blue cheese carbonara, cherry tomato and mozzarella were on the menu today – and there are delicious looking sandwiches and salads as well.  Might I also recommend a spot of people-watching from the window seats: Coco is conveniently perched opposite Goldman Sachs, so you can find a dish of the day in more ways than one.

Coco di Mama is at 90 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1DH
Open 07:00 to 18:00

Make sure you follow them on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest menus and specials.

Castaway

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

When I get appointed a Dame for services to men(‘s footwear), I like to think that I’ll be beckoned over to Kirsty Young’s sofa and quizzed on the tunes that have signified the milestones in my life story.  Until that auspicious moment, I have the fun of agonising over what to pick for my own Desert Island Discs.  Whilst I know that the list would include at least one Barry Manilow and at least one Barbra Streisand, refining the list is a matter that has kept me awake at night.

Imagine my delight to hear on the Today Programme this morning that this stalwart of the broadcasting schedule is turning to the masses.  The new “interactive” web page allows the most plebian of castaways to enter their favourite musical memory moments, and allow themselves to be contacted for a special edition airing on Saturday 11th June.

It goes without saying, boys, that, along with the Bible and Complete Works of Shakespeare, your necessity would be a pair of Fin’s…  But, which pair to choose?!  I think the Formentera Turquoise would look pretty fabulous, but a Finspadrille in any hue would be hard to beat.

This is a time-waster’s dream; if you have anything to do today of any importance, don’t click here

CURRENT STATE OF THE UNION

Monday, March 7th, 2011

With so much general Fin’s office discussion, we thought we should share with you our most recent love/hates.

Love

Oscar Wardrobe AnalysisMost of the Hollywood stars got it right this year but as always there were a few who tried way too hard (*cough* Nicole Kidman).  On the other hand, Cate Blanchett, Mila Kunis and obviously Gwyneth looked flawless.

The Jennifer Lopez ComebackWe are loving the new season of American Idol, and it’s mainly down to one lady! Showing Cheryl how it should be done, J-Lo is looking unbelievable. Her new single isn’t bad either.

Asian TravelsFin is away on business over the next couple of weeks traveling to China, Vietnam and Dubai. While we are envious of her picture message [see below] drinking champagne in the departure lounge, we sure as hell are not jealous of her long haul flights! Safe journey Finbag.

Spring/Summer Stock ArrivalNow that the Fin’s sale is well and truly over, we bring you the Fin’s new S/S 2011 collection. Highlights include the Finspadrille [pictured below] and the new shades of the George Suede Loafer. If early sales are anything to go by, it is definitely a hit with you guys.

Hate

Kim Kardashian’s Pop ‘Career’ - Okay, so we all agree that Kim is stunning. And we love ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians.’ But we simply can’t support her new pop career. Our advice: stick to looking pretty Kim, you’re good at it.

March Weather – We just about managed to survive the winter’s bitterly cold conditions through the use of sunbeds, cashmere and our beloved office heater. But if the start of the month is anything to go by, our electricity bill is not going to decrease any time soon. Get the gloves back out.

The End Of The Fin’s Sale – We thanked all our loyal customers last month by putting some of our stock into a fabulous Fin’s sale, and boy did you guys reciprocate the love! Many of the styles are now sold out and discontinued [insert picture of the world ending here.] Only thing left to say is R.I.P Reggie Leather Loafer and the Fin’s for Bill Amberg, you shall be sorely missed.

Men Who Don’t Care For Their Shoes Properly - Attention all men! Please invest in a Fin’s shoe care kit. We promise it will soon become a loyal companion and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Team Fin’s Christmas Wish List – Fin

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

What with the treacherous weather, we’re a little worried that we might have missed the last post to the North Pole, so in 21st Century style, we are hoping that Father Christmas is checking the Fin’s blog to see what we’d like under the tree this year.  First up is the boss, Finbag:

These Lanvin flats are as chic with a black tight as with a brown leg for Dubai in March, available at Net-a-Porter, £325.

I already have my Euro-fabulous-cool-no? Moncler coat, so I shall stare at this until the big chill subsides, Burberry Prorsum at Net-a-Porter.com, £1,495.

My quest for the quirkiest tortoiseshell sunglasses continues with these babies from Karen Walker Eyewear, available at EyeGoodies, $180.

I know they won’t fit down the chimney, but a pair of Talisman console tables would look fabulous either side of it.

I think it’s about time I kicked off my collection of Andy Warhol Cats, available at Peter Harrington, £3,950.

And, if all else fails, a year’s supply of blow dries with Anna at Lockonego would be a dream come true.
