Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
We have a huge crush on model and soon-to-be major movie star Flee B-B, but always find ourselves looking old and frumps standing next to her. That aside, we are thrilled to have her as one of our Fin’s Style Heart Throb contributors. She has chosen King of Cool, John Travolta.
Why John Travolta?
Uma Thurman and him in Pulp fiction- that dancing scene. I just want to be her to be with him.
Any particular look that inspires?
The early Mickey Rourke and John Travolta were kind of from the same ilk- they had that effortless cool. The dimple in the chin, the deep smooth voice, the turned up collar and that very important Grease Lightning quiff.
Despite the now middle aged paunch- he still maintains that effortless and unfazed cool and that is why he is my ultimate style heart throb.

First Look: The Fin's Amalfi Collection
Monday, December 7th, 2009We are beyond excited at the new styles set to launch next year. 2010 will see Fin’s continue as the men’s shoe brand you can rely on for simple, classic, affordable fuss-free additions to the shoe-drobe. We thought we’d give you a mere glimpse of our new Amalfi Collection. We found this amazing factory in Alicante making linen especially for shoes, and had to find a way to use them. When the samples arrived, were were instantly transported to 1950s Italy. Think Ripley, and channel Dickie Greenleaf in these sun-bleached classics.

The Limited Edition Amalfi Collection will be available exclusively online fron January 2010 (£110 + P&P). To join the waiting list, email info@finsforhim.com
Fin's Heart Throbs – Louise Roe, TV Presenter
Friday, December 4th, 2009
We are always glued to the screen whenever Louise Roe appears. Not only does she always look maddeningly fabulous, but she is also hilarious and full of style nuggets for us to take on board and apply to our own wardrobes. Trust her to think of someone young and, like, so on-trend, for her heart-throb. Such a relief to have someone in the Land of the Living (although he is a Twilighter, so alive would be pushing it).
Who is your Style Heart Throb?
It’s a tie between two very different lads…Gregory Peck and up-and-coming Twilighter, Jamie Campbell-Bower. Seeing as Fin stole my idea to have a silver screen heart throb, I’ll go with Jamie.
Why?
I was just on Fashion Police, a show on E! Entertainment, and the producer’s wanted to vote him worst dressed for his ‘scruffy’ grey cardigan on the red carpet. i veto’d it and voted him best-dressed, he’s just got that understated style going on: long messy hair, Raybans, a quirky take on the classic suit.
Any particular look that inspires?
A quirky take on the classic suit – smart shoes and trousers but a T-shirt under a blazer or a cardigan instead of a jacket. Sunglasses tucked into his v-neck. Hawt.
Which Fin’s would you choose for him?
Nantucket Grey. He’s not a bright colour chap, but this stoney shade would set off his suits perfectly.

Suits You
Friday, December 4th, 2009Designing shoes for men is tough when you’re a girl. Why I don’t design dangerously sharp studded leather ballet flats like the ones below, for example, is beyond me sometimes.
Designing for men does has its perks, however, like a constant stream of handsome boys coming up to Fin’s HQ to buy shoes and sometimes dinner. On occasion, however, we need some outside inspiration to truly understand the sartorial needs and desires of a man’s shoe-drobe. Enter Eric Musgrave, a fan of Fin’s since the beginning, and always on hand to offer sage words. A fashion journalisn juggernaut, he has just published a fabulous new book, Sharp Suits, an near-fetishistic guide to the 3 and 1/2 metres of fabric that lovingly creates the most handsome-making item of clothing a boy can wear (apart from a pair of Fin’s, of course).
If you are looking for some bright ideas for your next trip to Savile Row, this is the bedtime reading for you.
Eric Musgrave’s Sharp Suits (Pavilion, £25) is available at Amazon
