Wednesday, November 25th, 2009Fin's Style Heart Throbs – Sophia Hesketh, Superstylist
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009This week, fashion stylist Sophia Hesketh. Sophia is one of our most fashion fabulous Fin’s fans. She works as a stylist for the terrifyingly trendy Japanese Vogue, and is one of style.com’s Front Row Faces of tomorrow. She has worked with Terry Richardson, Mert & Marcus and the high priest of fashion himself, Karl.

Style Heart Throb?
James Dean
Why?
He was so simple, effortless, aloof. All the components of sexy.
Particular look?
The leather jacket, white t-shirt, jeans – often copied but never bettered. It’s amazing how such a basic ensemble can still have the association with one icon.
Which Fin’s would you choose for him?
Definitely the Manhattan Blacks. Slick, simple, the ultimate classic, just like him!

Stocking Finners for Her
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Well, it’s completely obvs what to buy for Him this Christmas: i.e.these or these or these, but what about gifts for her?
We rarely get to talk about fabulous things for us ladies over at Fin’s HQ, so we thought we’d indulge ourselves, just in case someone out there wants to take the hint.
FIN’S CHECKLIST:
If I hang around under the mistletoe in this Balmain sensation, something wonderful is bound to happen.
Could I also have some of these to sip in the bath after work?
SALLY’S CHECKLIST:
The obsession with leopard print continues; please may I wake up to this Jimmy Choo clutch on Christmas morn?
For the nights when Frank is away, I shall count the days until his return with this.
Fin's Style Heart Throbs
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009We decided to ask some of our most fabulous fashionista friends to name their Style Heart Throbs. Any man, any era, we want to know who/what/wear gets their pulses racing.
To kick off the series, who better to ask than Fin herself?!

Gene Kelly - simple, classic, fuss-free, great for a dance - just like Fin's
Style Heart Throb?
Gene Kelly
Why?
He was so effortless, and his style reflected that. When you think of all the fabulous dancing in those old films, it all seemed so buttoned up. Gene Kelly made it look so nonchalant.
Any particular look that inspires?
He tried to break free from the stuffy conventions of the 1930s and early 40s, when top hat and tails or tuxedos were the norm, by dancing in casual or everyday work clothes. The clean lines and neutral palettes are timeless and so chic. And I love how he rolled up his trousers up to show his white socks and loafers – I just wish he were around today to wear Fin’s. (Not sure the rubber soles would do much for his tap dancing though!)
Which Fin’s would you choose for him?
The Reggie Leather in Torquay Tan, with or without the white socks!
Crazy in Love
Monday, November 16th, 2009We went to see Beyonce in concert last night. She is phenomenal, a living legend, a megastar, for the following reasons:
1. Ability to thrust her hips and flick her ginormous hair violently without her amazing voice faltering at all.
2. Sheer professionalism, and clearly a hardcore work ethic.
3. A beauty, even in Alexis Carrington-style white leotard/white hooded dressing gown/white heel ensemble.
She also managed to get not just her husband, but also Kanye West to perform on stage with her, which made it all the more exciting.
Here’s her performance at the MTV VMAs. Doesn’t get much better than this!

Richard Paice, Fin and Sall
We were more than delighted (and just a little nervous!) when Richard Paice asked Fin to give a talk at the annual Footwear Friends Awards at the Geffrye Museum. The Footwear Friends have been so kind in nurturing young brands like Fin’s, and she felt it was the least she could do to repay them for all their support and advice. After talking for a full EIGHT minutes about what is was to build your own brand, we were whisked off to Cipriani’s for salmon carpaccio and venison ragu. Delicious.
Something for the weekend…
